Message from Slidell Bantam Baseball Association!

On behalf of the Slidell Bantam Baseball Association and all its members, we want to express our deepest gratitude to each and every one of you who generously devoted your time, effort, and resources during our recent work detail on April 20th. Your unwavering dedication and hard work have propelled us one step closer to rebuilding our cherished baseball and softball park, and we cannot thank you enough for your invaluable contributions.

To all the parents, coaches, grandparents, aunts, uncles, one of our past presidents (Jay Trainor), and our uniform and equipment supplier (Herman Smith) your enthusiastic participation and commitment to our cause have been truly inspiring. Whether you were cleaning up debris, removing fences, vacuuming glass from the fields, or raking dirt, your willingness to roll up your sleeves and tackle every task with determination did not go unnoticed. It is through your collective effort that we have managed to make significant progress in preparing our fields for the upcoming season.

A heartfelt thank you also goes out to Kirk Gallagher of QC Services LLC and T.J. Willis of T.J. Willis Construction LLC for their extraordinary generosity. Their donation of time, crews, and equipment in the days leading up to the work detail was instrumental in addressing the heavier tasks, such as removing downed light poles, cutting fallen trees, removing damaged bleachers, and downed fences. Without their support, the monumental task of rebuilding would have been much more daunting, and our goal of starting the season on time would have been significantly delayed.

Although we have made significant strides towards our goal, we recognize that there is still much work to be done. While opening day is currently planned for May 4th, please understand that the park is not yet at 100% capacity. Major repairs are still needed for electricity, light poles, dugouts, and concession stands so please keep and eye on our website and Facebook page for updates.

As a non-profit organization without governmental funding, operated entirely by volunteers, we depend on the generosity of individuals like you to help us fulfill our mission. Your donations are not only needed but greatly appreciated, and each contribution makes a significant difference. Remember that donations to SBBA are 100% tax-deductible.

If you wish to make a donation, please drop off donation checks at Smiths Sporting Goods (marked as "donation") located at 1435 Lindberg Drive, Slidell, LA 70458, or mail them to SBBA at PO Box 945, Slidell, Louisiana 70458.

Once again, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your unwavering support and dedication to the youth of our community. Together, we will rebuild SBBA stronger than ever before.

With heartfelt appreciation,

SBBA Board & Membership

F.A.Q.
  • What age group should my child be in?

When you enter your child's birthday it will default to the correct division. You can also check the Documents section of the website for the age bracket. It will go by your child's year and month of birth.

  • When does Spring registration begin?

Spring registration will open on the website around the first of the year. Please check our website for updates as well as follow our Facebook page for notifications.

  • Can my child play up/down?

No. We follow the guidelines for USSSA on what division your child should play in. Please see our age bracket key under the Documents tab or go to www.USSSA.com and use their age calculator to determine the Division for your child.

  • Can I request my child play with his/her friend or for a specific coach?

You can make the request on your registration. However, those requests are NOT a guarantee. All players, with the exception of the coaches child, are drafted. No special requests are guaranteed and we do NOT allow trades after the drafts.

  • How much is Spring registration?

It is $125.00 for the first child with a discount for each child after that who lives in the same household.

  • What days will Spring games be on?

Typically, each team will play two games per week. It will depend on how many teams we have in each age group, but the goal is for Monday, Wednesday and Friday with Saturdays if needed.

  • What days are practice during the Spring?

Practice days, times and locations are up to the individual coaches once teams are selected.

  • When does Spring registration end for 2024?

Registration for the Spring will end March 2, 2024.

  • Who has to tryout? Does everyone make a team?

Players in age groups 6 and up tryout except for head coaches kids ONLY. Everyone makes a team, this is more of an evaluation for coaches to draft teams so they are more evenly matched.

  • Is all T-Ball Co-Ed?

No, only T4 is co-ed. T5 and T6 are just boys. 6U is 5 and 6 year old girls.

  • When I enter my child's birthday, it says "No Division Available", but they are old enough to play

Be sure to click on the appropriate link for your child's birthday. If they are supposed to be in T-ball, you have to click on that link. Likewise, you have to click on the baseball/softball link if they are supposed to be in baseball/softball.

  • When does the Spring season end?

The spring season usually ends the end of May prior to Memorial Day. However, that can change due to the number of rainout games we have in a season.
